It’s Back To School Time!
While spring cleaning is for our homes, fall cleaning is the time for our desks, our “backpacks” and yes, our presentations. If you are a professor or a speaker, have you taken the time to examine your presentations with a critical eye recently?
As a speaker or a teacher, your job is to transfer knowledge to your audience. Did you know that 65% of the general population are visual learners? Additionally, studies are now proving that we retain information better when there is an emotional connection to what we are learning. Examine the before and after slides and see what you react to. Is it the color, the image, the shape? Do you get the message without even hearing a speaker deliver it?
This fall, take some time to reduce the clutter in your presentations and add images, color, shapes and assertive headlines. Your audience will retain 70% more of your information when their visual and auditory senses are actively engaged!
